Blog - January 2012

Isn't language wonderful? People say the most amazing things. Almost all of them go unrecorded. So I like to lean out from time to time and grab some. Inspiring, crass, funny, beautiful, true ... here are a few of my recent favourites:

Harry Redknapp, 26 January
I write like a two year old, and I can't spell.

Leonard Cohen, 25 January (from October 2011)

Andrew Miller, 25 January

Broadcasting House, Radio 4, 22 January
Four hundred photos of the same person's bottom in one day is excessive.

Material World, Radio 4, 19 January
His most hated noise is cabbage leaves squeaking.

Paul Johnson, 15 January
Jean Paul Sartre could write up to twenty thousand words a day. Of course he was writing in French.

Jane Perry (breast implant interviewee) 6 January
I've got everything in my chest except the kitchen sink.

Clive Tyldesley, ITV1, 8 January
