High costs and immature technology have so far held solar power back. Could Masdar's thin film photo-voltaic complex be the renewable breakthrough that the world has been waiting for? The scriptwriting challenge here was about harmonising the excitement of the big story with technicalities that were well understood by a well-informed audience.
